Have had MLA-30 for about a year and a half and now MLA-30+. Full disclosure, I installed the MLA-30+ about 6 inches higher than the MLA-30+. But there is a clear difference. I get ham radio transmissions that never happened with the MLA-30. This is an antenna for beginners like me. If you can get it anywhere outside of your house/apartment you will hear ALL kinds of things. Shortwave, ham radio, etc. Definitely a great antenna. I don't know how it works indoors (probably depends on your electrical interference) but if you can pull it outside about 6ft. I don't know how shortwave hearing will improve without a huge tower.
