This Journal is much thicker leather with a workable leather strap about a half inch wide. It has a unique style page binder. there are five individual six X four inch paper booklets. the paper is thicker than notebook paper, it's more pliable than construction paper and a little less dense. It writes well, though if i wanted to remove a page it would have to be scissored cut so as not to loose that page plus the adjoining one. The pages are joined to the binder with two sets of three leather straps, these are about a quarter inch wide each. they are pushed through holes and the straps are looped and tied. It's quite a unique piece. It gives an old world charm to the piece. rated four stars because of the problem with tearing a sheet out could cause damage to the rest of the book.
