Very happy with my purchase

Before I bought a PS4 I used to have fantasies about using a home theater PC for gaming and DVR/TV streaming around the house. Unfortunately, after working on it for several weeks, I gave up this idea as the pipe dream of a young idealist who was unaware of his technical limitations. About a year later, my wife asked me to find a way to stream our DVR to her iPad. With my previous experience of far-fetched failure, I enthusiastically embarked on this new, similar mission. This time I found Slingbox and its cheaper alternative Belkin @TV. After reading about 10 reviews I bought a Belkin TV and I've been happy ever since. Pros: Stream cable TV anywhere you have an internet connection. Even outside of my apartment. The picture is good with very little glitches, although I've only seen it on my home network when the Belkin @TV is hard-wired to the router. Ability to view my DVR on my laptop or iPad. Free apps for tablets, easy installation of free software for laptops. Cons: My cable box wasn't found, so the DVR section on the remote doesn't work. I can get around this by going through the menu button, but that's a little fiddly. The delay between button presses on an iPad takes about 3 seconds to register, which annoys my wife, but she's willing to live with the limitation of being able to watch DVR broadcasts from bed (it's faster on my laptop , so client processing power is obviously important). . The phone apps are $15, but I don't plan on ever using them on my phone. If you watch TV quickly from a tablet and understand and accept the speed limitations of this device, you will probably be as happy as I am.
