To be clear your results will probably not match mine. I live in a rural area with direct line of sight to the ATT Tower. I used AT&T's LTE router and modem combo and got an average of 15-25 Mbps. After a while I switched to OTRMobile (ATT's third-party provider). First I tried LB1200 and lost 20-30Mbps. I upgraded to ATT Velocity 2 (forced upgrade) via OTR, which averaged 20-40Mbps. While this was an improvement, Velocity 2 does not have its own way of connecting to an existing network. I bought the MR1100 and the Meshforce M3 mesh network together. There has been a lot of discussion online about using the MR1100 with a router and what works and what doesn't. At least in my scenario it works. There will be no IP passthrough and you'll have to live with double NAT, which shouldn't be a problem for the average person. You will see a slight MS spike, so if you have a young player at home this could be problematic for him. After all, I'm currently getting an average of 90-150Mbps, usually around 100Mbps. It saved me so I can work from home while the kids watch movies and play games. The Nighthawk is expensive because it offers truly superior performance. Note, however, that the Nighthawk MR1100 doesn't offer much Wi-Fi capability over long distances. I would suggest buying a very inexpensive Meshforce M3 mesh network to pair with as I can confirm it works for me. If you do this, make sure you're logged into your Nighthawk and turn WiFi off - it really should be. Then connect Nighthawk's Ethernet to your Meshforce base and you're done.
