Review on 🔊 Wiistar Optical Fiber Decoder with AC3/DTS/Toslink Coaxial Digital to Analog Audio L/R Conversion and 3.5mm Earphone Jack by Daniel Steele

I bought this decoder to connect a Samsung Smart TV with only fiber optic audio output to an old stereo receiver that only has analog RCA jacks. I bought a similar decoder for my father. via Revain a few years ago so he could connect a wireless headphone base to his TV. He's still using it today and it worked fine, so based on our experience I decided to buy another one, but I didn't like the price. For the money, I seriously considered spending a little more and getting a cheap AV receiver with a fiber optic input. Then I came across this Wiistar decoder for less than half the price and decided it was worth a try. I've only tried fiber optic digital inputs and RCA connectors. The sound was very good. There's a slight lag that can be noticed if you have both the TV speakers and stereo turned on. The simple solution was to simply turn down the volume on the TV speakers. Even with the delay, the audio still seemed to lip-sync with the on-screen speakers. The design of the Wiistar decoder is very similar, apart from the lack of a micro-USB connector for powering it from the TV's USB port. to the decoder I bought for my father. My only minor complaint is that the cord from the power adapter is short (3ft) and I had to use an extension cord to get to the extension cord. It really should come with a 6-inch cable, especially as with other decoders there's no way to power it directly from the TV's USB port. I am very happy with this Wiistar decoder, especially for the price.
