Great size for everyday wear. I used this bag for 3 day hikes in Yosemite National Park, we covered about 10 miles each day. The waist straps are great for weight distribution and the 2 small zipped compartments on the side fit in one pocket for my multi tool, lip balm, face mask and the other for my Galaxy S9. . The outside buckle pocket can hold a small pair of sandals and my cooling towel. The 2 liter reservoir was perfect for summer camping trips and I also carried a half liter bottle in the side mesh pocket. The cap/cover for the nozzle is perfectly protected from dust and dirt. I really liked the neoprene cover for the drinking tube! This kept the water in the hose cool (I definitely had to digest that initial rush of very warm water off my camelback before I could access cooler bubble water). My only two recommendations for improving this bag would be to add one of those key hooks to the top of the main pocket to make finding keys easier in the zipped pocket, and maybe an additional open pocket in the main pocket for small items. not easily lost (e.g. vaccination card or identity card). Finally, the whistle on the strap buckle works but isn't very loud so you might want to carry a separate whistle, especially if you're traveling alone.
