We bought the old model, and the new one is even faster! Readings are quick, it glows in different colors (green for normal temperature and red for fever), comes with a carrying case, and has a magnetic lid for easy switching from forehead mode to ear mode. I really liked that there was also a forehead switching mode for kids and adults, and even a "home" function that allows you to read the temperature of objects and areas in your home! This is a cool bonus feature! I believe that's pretty accurate based on kids' easy speed reading and even various items around our house!
