Revainrating 5 out of 5

Large area: remembers the last units, automatic shutdown after 3 minutes, does not turn on automatically.

This scale is great! It replaces the old Walmart brand digital scale that was a nuisance to use. Pros: - Remembers last used units after power on so I can keep them on the unit I use most often. Walmart scales don't. Easily switch between all units with a single button. The Walmart scale required me to turn it over and press a button to switch to metric units (grams, ml); which he did not remember after switching off. - Does not turn on automatically when something is placed on it. This allows me to leave it on the counter and temporarily put things on it without worrying about battery drain. The auto shut off time is perfect. It turns off after 3 minutes of inactivity at a non-zero value and 1 minute of inactivity at a value of zero. The Walmart scale kept turning off when I tried to gradually add foods to a dish. Normal AAA batteries are used. The Walmart scale used a coin cell battery, which I don't usually always have on hand. Cons: - Digital displays are a little slow to update but seem to work well enough. The Walmart dial was a bit faster, but the values jumped around a bit, so I think it's a trade-off. workarounds. As with most flat scales, it can be difficult to read the display when large plates or other objects are obscuring the display. There are a few tricks I've learned to get around this. The method I use the most is to fold things to create a gap for reading the display. I usually use a cutting board and bowl combo.
