Revane tells me that my last purchase of this Garmin 920XT wristband was in July 2017. I'd say it's not bad for a watch strap considering I've swum 180 miles in the ocean in 2020 alone and have swum over 80 more this year and probably swam over 300 miles in a pool between 2017 and 2020 , which is very hard for rubber and plastic. This strip is just showing signs of failure so I'm replacing it now. I tighten the strap so it stretches as I swim, but loosen it a bit to make it more comfortable later. I'm not sure what other people do with broken bands, but the new band I got was great. My original group only lasted a year of "recommendation" classes. So be a little gentler and you should be fine. I'm exceptionally picky about watches so this 920XT (watch and strap) is truly amazing in terms of durability.
