I bought a medium size first as I am 5ft 9" and 147lbs. After the first 5-10 minutes I felt very cramped. I returned the medium size and bought a large. but not to the point of embarrassment. With fleece inside I stay very warm. The polyester/spandex blend is smooth on the outside and won't cling to the outer layer of clothing. I machine wash them in cold water and let them air dry so they don't shrink. In addition, they have no tag (the size is on the inside), nothing chafes the skin. Nice to wear indoors with the thermostat set below, or outdoors as an extra layer of protection in autumn and winter. Will buy a second pair. Good value for money.
