I bought this for the G9 because it cost a little less than the Small Rig Cage and had two extra cold shoe mounts. Only after seeing it in person did I realize that it wasn't a cheaper copy, but a different design, and not always made to be better, but also to make it cheaper. 7/10 for design for G9. . It was designed for the GH5/Gh5S but seems to fit the G9, but this leads to many disadvantages. On the one hand, the white balance button, which actually touches the frame and can be activated under certain circumstances, is covered by the frame, which makes it difficult to press the button. The record button is also heavily covered by a cage. The cage also adds significant width where it's not needed, where the grip is so wide that one-handed handling is difficult. For some reason it sits upright, but for some reason it can roll forward. There is a protrusion on the left side that prevents the use of the NATO rail. Fit and ready 9/10. There are minor traces of processing that have been painted over. You can see they tried to press in as many 1/4 inch holes as possible on the left side where the holes are drilled slightly further than the bevel. I'm not sure why they chose to use 2 or even 3 rows of 1/4" screws instead of one with a 3/8" screw in the middle. That probably reduces the weight. It consists of 4 separate pieces of metal as opposed to the one-piece Small Rig Cage. The cost makes me wonder if they reduce the cost of metal quality, bolts, etc. Someone more foresight than me will replace the screws as cheap Chinese ones tend to break in half but I'll just light it up and see. 8 out of 10 points. Overall it's still better value than the Small Rig Cage so I'd probably still choose it over the Small Rig Cage but only time will tell if it will hold up and be worth the savings. So far, I feel like I've sacrificed ease of use for a discount. If you have the budget to treat yourself or need something if 100% not 99% then I would go with SmallRig.
