Josef Prusa does everything right. He uses the best material to make his thread. The machines he uses to create the thread must be top notch. Prusament is the only thread (one of its threads) wound on a plastic spool in perfect order. So there is no binding that all spools of other companies have. *** If you have never used Prusament, pay a little more and give it a try, you won't regret it. This thread is not my first order. In fact, I have a Prusa 3D printer and the extra cost justifies the price quite well as the components are quality products.
