I installed this unit next to a 15000 BTU gas stove. I turned on the burner, blew out the flame, and let the gas run for about 15 seconds. The device was plugged into an outlet 13 inches from a gas burner. The alarm clock never rang. I then connected the unit to the power cord and ran the same test for about 20 seconds with the unit directly over the gas burner for about 20 seconds. Still no reading, no alarm clock! Enough said. you have been warned I buy a corporate block.
