Nice toaster and browns fairly evenly. However, I set the browning/shading selector to "3" to test the toasting of my first piece of bread. It has turned completely black on both sides. I then moved it to "1" and a piece of toast with the main surface toasting fairly well/evenly but the edges were charred. I moved the selector down a bit and now I get a nice piece of toast without charring. My question is why is there a choice between 2 and 6? The browning/tinting selection is really just a timer for how long the toaster is on. Make it more useful by making it more adjustable. I have to say that as the toaster ages and the heating elements don't get as hot, I'll be able to move the selector higher to get the desired level of toast.
