I had low expectations and couldn't meet them. First, I wasn't expecting any refills or headphones. And yet they are. The pen is fully functional and looks like a high quality, relatively expensive professional pen. If you intend to "secretly" use this thing, it's unlikely anyone will mistake it for anything other than a pen. As for the recording aspect, it has a lot more features than I expected. It can be configured for continuous recording or voice (sound) activation. You can view your audio files by connecting the included headphones, or you can connect them to your computer to access and edit your recordings. Pros: - Nice looking packaging and product - Lots of features - Has all the accessories you need to get the job done and includes spare inks (10) - 4 different buttons for controls/functions (volume up, down, voice activation and multi-function clicker ) - Pretty impressive recording quality - The LED indicator is very well hidden Cons: - Pretty steep learning curve when using the multi-function clicker to access various functions. The LED indicator turns off after a series of flashes, so in case you miss it. So it's easy to think it's doing one thing when it could be doing something else. (like playback instead of recording) - The sound recording distance is short. Must be within a few feet of what you're recording to get decent volume - it's not for a Mac. You can use it manually from a Mac, but the included application files are for Windows only. Overall I think this is a surprisingly good product and worth buying if you need a voice recorder for note taking, meetings etc.
