Seen by friends and bought for myself. I've had it for about a month now and when I cleaned the sink I saw that the sponge residue had reached the top. When I was about to wipe it off, I pressed the top and black goo came out of a different hole, away from where the soap actually dispenses. I ran the lid under hot water and squeezed it all the way in, but found I couldn't open it to check. So I guess keep your sponges spotlessly clean and dry or don't let the sponge rest on them.
