The carpet worked great!

This mat did a great job of protecting my little Eco from a full roof rack scratch when I moved from Florida to the New England area. The carpet didn't move at all. The bottom line is to wet the roof of the car before attaching the mat and immediately attach the roof bag. If you do this, the mat will not move an inch during transport. You still need to make sure your storage and straps are secured at any gas station or rest stop, but I assure you the mat will stay in place even if you first wet your car roof.
