I wanted an underwater action camera for occasional use. I didn't have one before because I couldn't justify the GoPro prices. However, this one is great at a fantastic price. It came with a lot of connection brackets and two batteries. So far it exceeds my expectations. The remote control is meager - photo and video on/off, but that suits me. I don't know much about the image quality, but the photos and videos from it seem to be at least as good as my iPhone and good enough quality for what I'm using it for. I downloaded an app to my phone for this. It has bad reviews but it worked flawlessly for me. The phone app allows control over all camera functions and settings, so I'll probably use it as a remote instead of the simpler remote that comes with it.
