I bought these to test my cat's blood sugar. I use them to hold my ear and then apply pressure after sampling. They are great for this purpose but I gave them three stars for their advertised use. I have other cotton pads that I use to remove nail polish. When I use them to test my cat's blood sugar, I cut the round in half and use one half for each test. With this ammo I use whole. When I remove nail polish I usually do 2 (maybe 3) cycles to remove everything. I would need closer to 4 or 5 of them to do the same job. Depending on what you need them for, they're fine, but about half the size of the "regular" cartridge you'd buy at a drugstore/department store.
