Review on 🌿 Brightwell Aquatics FlorinBase Laterin Substrat F - Premium Clay Base Substrate for Planted and Shrimp Aquaria by Bernard Her

Exactly how it sounds

I will try to update it after a long time of use but at the time of opening when I didn't find much about it on the internet I thought I should describe it. I would say the particle size is a mix of play sand and pool filter sand so it's fine but not mud when wet. It needs rinsing, but what can you expect when you buy clay? Fairly uniform in size, not as many large (as in pool filter sand) particles, and the smallest ones I have after washing are like fine debris that end up in the play sand. I mix it with a bit of coarse sand so it's perfect for my application. Time will tell how it handles nutrient uptake, but from the start it's exactly what I expected/hoped for. Update, it's been a few months and my original review still stands. . The substrate seems to remain relatively stable when the plants are moved since very little is supplied by the plant. If you want to rip it out, it also mixes with my top sand, which is a plus. Some gas can form because it can compact, but what do you expect from a layer of clay, honestly you don't need more. Overall I will get more in the next tank I tune.
