Review on Canon PGI 220 Combo Pack Triple by Kelly Anderson

Outrageous ink cartridge prices in Australia prompted me to purchase several kits for my MP640 along with some other items I needed. in AC brand CLI-521 and PGI-520 cartridges are essentially the same. "Test" Revain reports that these CLI cartridges work in the MP640. But here's the thing. When installed in my printer, it throws an error U140 - i.e. cartridge is not compatible. Why is it like this? Because those pesky Canon people are protecting their markets and the chip on the cartridge says it's a CLI-221 and not a CLI-521 so it spits out wrong. to help in this regard as they reset chips from empty to full and are for people refilling used cartridges. In order not to waste money, I tried changing the chip from CLI-521 to CLI-221 as a workaround. cartridge and it confirmed my theory. What's bugging me now is that the printer thinks the cartridge is empty so when printing on the printer I have to press OK to ignore its warning - I'm not sure how long this will be successful yet. I believe "reloaders" only work with US chips, not AU or European ones. Sigh. Hope this helps someone.
