Review on Arlington FLBR5420 Recessed Power Round by Matthew Fleming

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent quality and good design

We have been looking for a floor socket for a long time but they all seemed quite thick over the finished floor or had a real commercial look. This is the thinnest I've seen and all the exposed parts of the brass model are molded from brass which should hold up. The biggest challenge is cutting a 5 inch hole. 5 inch hole saws are expensive but do a really good job if you have a decently powerful drill bit for the job. A saber saw will do, but I'm suspicious of my skills when cutting holes in finished floors. securely in place with finger flaps tightened with four screws. My only suggestion for improvement is that the finger flaps that hold them to the bottom are metal and have a locking nut on the bottom of the screw so you don't accidentally loosen the bracket can turn back the pin from the end of the screw if you unscrew it for a thicker bottom. But of course that's not a showstopper, it was just a problem for me when one of them fell under the house. It was easy to put back on. ; it is simply screwed back in. The Ethernet jack holes are well placed and will work with any keystone jack, meaning you can add an HDMI or COAX jack instead of two Ethernet jacks, making it ideal for connecting your TV to your Couch powered from a cable. Connection.Very comfortable and worth the price.

Pros
  • Assembly with 5 inch hole saw
Cons
  • unreliable
