Review on 🌊 SEAL-ONCE MARINE - 1 Gallon Penetrating Wood Sealer: Waterproof, Stain & Protect for Wood Docks, Decks, Piers & Retaining Walls in High-Moisture Areas by Stephen Russian

I purchased a marine version of this product to use on cedar posts and beams for Japanese style picket fences and gates that I am building for our garden. I use the Shou Sugi Ban finish which is a fire charcoal and brush technique to keep bugs and fungi away. It brings out the grain pattern nicely (see photo!) This material is so easy to apply. It's milky so you can see what you're missing, but dries clear. The second coat gives the finish a slight sheen that brings out the beautiful texture of the wood in this flamed finish technique. The only downside I've found is that most wood glue won't work with this finish. Your joints will later simply tear apart and peel off the surface finish. The best glue would be a urethane construction glue like Gorilla Glue, the type you use in your caulking gun.
