I bought this device and wondered if it would even work. I was so skeptical that I provisionally assembled everything without using any glue on the sensor. My first test worked so well that I decided to hide the IR sensor between the 1/2 inch thick air vents on my closet. To my surprise, it not only worked, it worked better than pointing remotes directly at individual devices. because of the huge IR sensor which is about the size of a grape, nonetheless I am absolutely delighted with the performance and very happy with the purchase.
