My car has 4 sockets and they are all always on even with the engine off and the key removed. This was a problem for me because I use a dash cam and sometimes I forget to turn it off when I get out of the car which drains the battery. This adapter has switches that allow me to easily turn them on and off. And when they're on, there's a blue light to remind me they're on. Now I don't have to worry about my DVR being always on. USB sockets are convenient for charging your mobile phone while driving. I like that the device rotates, which allows me to position it correctly. I am very happy with this purchase.
