Bought for my 2018 4Runner. Both the horizontal and vertical panels are fairly sturdy and strong enough for glove box use, and they fit snugly and fit perfectly. It takes about 20 seconds to install, so I see no problem with installing and removing this separator in the future if needed. The long side has good support (see photo) on the right side so heavier items work well there. The short left side is not supported (see photo), so whatever you place on the top short sidebar should be small and light. It's still a small room. All in all it keeps items from sliding around and that was my main goal. It's not perfect, but it's better than an open glove box.
