Okay first let me say that I'm a certified security professional so this review is a warning to those concerned about their online security and personal make data. Cons: 1. You cannot access logs of what is happening on your Wi-Fi network. You cannot see if someone is trying to attack your system or if you have a misconfigured device that is causing problems. Logs can only be viewed by the company's development team and refuse to decrypt and send them back to the customer. You can answer kind of a vague question, but I've been trying to find out if my neighbor is still trying to hack my wifi for over a month now and all I can say is "sorry we can't give you that." 2. The Boosters are much larger than I thought and the magnetic mount, while rotating to fit almost any space, makes placement difficult in some places due to the side of the plug itself and its inability to rotate. 3. The application can access the access point without the possibility of additional security settings through your firewall. This means your network is connected to their hub, which is beyond your control and collects unknown data. So, it could collect passwords or system information. Logs are hidden with them, you can't know for sure. Pros: 1. Setup was extremely easy. can be done via the app for detailed control (e.g. renaming hotspots and boosters) or via a small watch-sized touchscreen.2. The signal levels on the boosters make it clear how he is communicating.3. The network automatically adapts to the environment to maintain the best speed.4. Turning the backlight on and off on a schedule makes it easy to place the base anywhere, even in the bedroom, without disturbing residents. Amplify is a great device. The secrecy and resistance to accessing syslogs and connecting to their service without the ability to log out baffles me. I had to make changes to my firewall to block the ports and traffic it sends across the network. That makes updates almost impossible, but I really don't want my photos and personal documents that I access over Wi-Fi to have been leaked due to their poor security and questionable business model.
