I chose this coat mainly because it doesn't have a hood. The hood on a dog coat looks silly and tends to bother the dog. This is a good quality coat with a waterproof shell and a fluffy lining. It fits our dog loosely, but I like it. It's comfortable and easy to put on. This is very important because he HATES it! I'm trying to teach him that I can wear it in the rain because he loves being outside, but he keeps getting wet during the day. I really have to blast it off with this, but with velcro straps on the chest and under the torso it's in place really quickly. There are plenty of velcro straps that can be overlapped so they can be adjusted and easily picked up if your dog is squirming to get away. He's getting used to the coat and I don't want to towel him off every time he comes in after a rain.
