The HDMI ports on my silent (non-smart) TV stopped working. We don't have a cable and just used our Fire Stick to stream. Unfortunately, you must have HDMI ports to use the Fire Stick. The TV repairman said it was probably the motherboard and not worth fixing. Before I threw the TV in the landfill, I had an idea to find an adapter to see if I could get the Fire Stick to work through the VGA port. I came across this product and was delighted. Not only does it convert video, but it also sends audio over an HDMI connection, so you can use a 3.5mm headphone cable to send audio through your TV's built-in speakers or stereo receiver. The package arrived fairly quickly and when I opened it I was very impressed with the packaging. I had everything connected in seconds and really couldn't be happier.
