Lots of great features for the money!

Excellent solar powered emergency radio! I've wanted it for a long time and it doesn't disappoint at all, apart from a few quibbles. I live in an area that gets frequent power outages during severe weather and I've been wanting to get one of those cheap plastic NOAA emergency weather radios for a while, but just couldn't imagine paying $30 for one, that much more for the money and even comfortable/fun during my summer hiking/camping and mushroom hunt. Yes, I know I can use my cell phone to get weather forecasts during a power outage, but I don't have a data plan. Firstly, with the built-in solar panel, this radio can be charged by the sun, fully discharged, it takes about 3 hours to fully charge. and will last a very long time. The built-in battery (see my picks below) is 2000mAh and can easily power NOAA radio broadcasts (7 channels) and AM/FM tuner, LED flashlight and built-in siren! This product can also be powered by 3 AA batteries or even charged via the built-in handle, which provides 3-5 minutes of power for the flashlight and 5-7 minutes of power for the AM/FM/NOAA radio. and all this in just 1 minute of hand rotation! You can also charge your phone with this device, it has a built in micro and full sized USB port and can be charged from a laptop or PC (although this small 2000mah battery takes a little time to charge). My biggest issue with this is that I feel like the built in 2000mAh battery is too weak to charge the phone and it took my device 40 minutes to give my phone a 10 percent performance boost. While it's not bad if there's an emergency, it's quite a long time, and that's if the onboard battery is completely drained in those 40 minutes. I think it needs a higher capacity battery, mAh, if you want to use or charge the phone connected to it, maybe 10,000 mAh would be more suitable. The built-in SOS siren is very loud and works amazingly well! The LED flashlight is bright enough for dark situations when you need some extra light and can also focus from point to point! When you lift the solar panel it turns on a very bright LED reading light, great for reading at night in a tent etc. The AM/FM tuner works amazingly well and even picks up distant stations in my area with ease! The whole block is protected by this hard rubber like material, very nicely built. Where I can be picky are those silver plastic volume and tuner knobs, while they work well they're just plastic and if someone accidentally drops them on their side they can crack or break. I would like SungLife to update these with rubber grips to improve durability. Also, being plastic they are too shiny, I just feel like they don't look good aesthetically on such a good product. Also, I really love this thing, it works amazingly well and looks really high quality for the money! UPDATE --- SungLife has announced that they will be updating their plastic grips, so that's great news!
