Review on Noctua NF-S12B Redux-1200 PWM: High Performance 120mm Cooling Fan (Grey) by Alexander Roberson

This fan is great. Just for starters. My system has 4 fans installed (besides the obvious fan on the graphics card). All fans are Noctua Redux fans. Two 140mm 1200rpm fans, one 120mm 1200rpm fan (this one) and one 92mm 1600rpm fan. I found they all do a great job of pushing and pulling air through the case. However, a 120mm fan is not suitable for heatsinks or radiators. The fan uses blade-like fins, which are great for sucking air in, but don't provide good "static" or constant air pressure due to the tiny gaps between the fins. All other fans (92mm and 140mm) are good for static airflow. 92mm is used on my cooler. My processor (fx-6300 on a 970 chipset gaming motherboard) runs comfortably at 77-82 f and 84 in an hour-long stress test. The heatsink is a rebranded Hyper TX3 (listed for reference of what to expect when paired). Now a few notes: Some people want to get more accurate information about the color. I really liked the color, but these are by no means the colors that you can normally combine. The fans are neutral gray with dark gray fins. Thanks to their high build quality, they look great in a black case with black components. Which, I must add, was not done on purpose. I only selected the highly rated parts that had the highest durability I could find for the price. However, he looks stunning. These fans are not as quiet as other silicone coated anti-vibration fans. This isn't a problem as a good soundproof enclosure will kill any residual noise they produce.
