Review on πŸ”₯ Enhanced M.2 2280 SSD Heatsink for PCIE NVME/SATA, Double-Sided Heat Sink for PS5 & Computer PC - Red by Chris Moody

Revainrating 4 out of 5

It works with PS5 though.

Firstly, if you pay for faster shipping, you will get it one day earlier if you don't work, and it ends shipping with delay . the day it would have been delivered if I had used free shipping. the added value must be returned without question. Come on Revain, do more! Now the product itself has been paired with a 2TB ADATA XPG Gammix S70 blade server. Anyone who gets one of these knows that it comes with a crappy little piece of metal meant to act as a heat sink for the M2's two-way drive. I don't know whose idea that was. Something similar to the SN850 would have been a wiser design choice. Well, that's where this little sucker comes in to replace that crap. As for instillation, the included pads aren't the best. A few hairs are too fine and not spongy enough. I will be purchasing Thermal Grizzly pads to replace later. I had to add one of the squares on top of the controller and another non-NAND chip on top to make enough contact as they are a bit lower than the NAND chips. A thinner pink stripe has been used on the back as these are NAND chips only and shouldn't be a problem if they get a bit warm. The way it fits into the PS5's M2 slot is what worries me the most. The width is ok, the height is. For double-sided M2 drives, the extra width of NAND on the bottom adds enough height to block 2 air ducts for negative pressure ventilation and places the cooling fins right at the bottom of the bay cover. A possibly existing ventilation despite blocked airways would not help much with such closed fins. I chose not to remove the M2's cover and have not encountered any ventilation issues or performance degradation due to overheating. However, single-sided M2 discs should work.

Pros
  • Easy installation. Suitable for M.2 SSDs of different heights. With 6 screws, fixed screws on both sides of the heatsink provide better protection for your M.2 SSD
Cons
  • Expensive
