Edit after heavy use: I took my Surface Pro to a customer factory (they make trucks) for a city water survey. I had it in a moko case. I was completely blown away by some aspects of this device. I marked up a very large PDF file, a plan of the entire building I was in, with the urban plumbing system drawn. Zoom, pan, freeze - nothing has affected the performance of this device. I used Drawboard PDF which was just right for my purposes. I shot for 6 hours without any breaks and without reloading. I have 63% battery left! Amazing given the workload (it was a LARGE PDF)! I really can't say enough good things about this device. I ended up buying the Surface Pen and it was worth it, not the Ciscle. At the moment I have no complaints about this device. I can only recommend that. Original Review: --- I was arguing between a new i5 Pro6 and a refurbished i5 Pro 5 until I found out that the new i5 in the Pro 6 is true 4-core 8-thread. I chose 6 and oh my god I'm glad I did. In terms of performance, it's truly amazing that such a powerful system can run on passive cooling. I've mainly used Surface to annotate drawing PDFs with Drawboard. Zooming, panning, recording, everything is as smooth as I could wish for, even with huge PDFs of entire factory buildings. Aesthetically, the Surface is a REALLY beautiful device. Very pleasing to the eye and very ergonomic. I like to curl up in studio mode to draw. Drawing is great. I've settled on a cheap third-party pen (Ciscle), but I think I'll be buying a Surface Pen soon. It's impressive how little lag there is when drawing, it really feels very natural. For a long time I thought with myself whether I should buy a Surface Pro 6 or just buy a cheap Windows tablet. The price difference is 300% but I'm very glad I got the Pro. Great device.
