Why doesn't HP just license third party toner cartridge manufacturers and get it done? So it happened that as a result of an HP firmware update for my HP Color LaserJet M283, the OEM toner cartridge chips that I had successfully transferred to the above replacement cartridges returned an error message that in short messed up the printer. I had to throw out the new cartridges and return the printer (luckily I bought it from Costco). What a fiasco! My advice: try ultra-thin printers. You probably save 80% of the cartridge cost.
