Review on Instapure Filtration Certified Reduction Microbial Filtration by Flocka Parsons

Revainrating 4 out of 5

So far so good in the water filtration and softening category

I bought this product for water filtration for home brewing. My water is already pretty good (Chicago), so I wanted to get rid of the chlorine first. But I didn't want to spend a lot of money on an expensive system for casual use. Reviews of Instapure models were the best of all compared to other manufacturers. The delivery of the Revain was unexpectedly poor, with only a shipping label on the display case. Although the box was slightly dented, the device was fine and all its parts were intact. I connected the unit to the sink faucet with a male threaded hose. This required a quick trip to the hardware store to get the right adapter, which is what I expected. It is important to follow the instructions as there are many washers and standard adapters included in the kit. Careful assembly means no leaks. The overall quality of the device is good, with snug fitting parts and a solid build. Turning the filter on and off is very easy. The slotted fittings mean the filter doesn't rotate on the tap, which I like. The parallel tasting of filtered and unfiltered water showed a significant improvement in filtration. Remember that filtered water leaks out much more slowly. Not much for a glass of water, but essential when filling a pot with gallons of water. Probably this applies to all filters of this type, you just have to be patient. The rating lost one star due to poor delivery. It may lose more stars if the filter's performance drops drastically with more frequent use.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Long delivery time
