Review on Proxxon 38060 Disc Sander 250E by Gregory Plump

I bought this grinder to use in assembling RC airplanes. This includes sanding small pieces of balsa wood and lightweight plywood. The device proved to be of high quality and the ability to run it at low speeds was important to me. When I received the grinder it was well packaged and really well made. . I've found that even a 1/8 inch thick piece of balsa wood will stop if you apply anything other than very light pressure. Now I understand that this is a grinder and not a mechanical carver, but it should be able to process thin balsa. easy. I was trying to sand down a few pieces of 1/2" thick plywood and it took a very light touch to keep the wheel from stalling. All in all it's a well made machine that would be excellent if it could would rev up the engine.
