Works seamlessly as the Oculus Rift S extender, part of the DisplayPort cable. I use the Cable Matters USB to USB Extension Cable (USB 3.0 Extension Cable) 6ft Black for Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Playstation VR Headset and other devices to extend the USB3 side of the Rift S-Cable. Again, both work fine, no problem. For example, if you have an extension from the computer, the location of my computer makes it easier to disconnect the Rift S from the computer without having to access the back of my computer.
