Feedback on this product seems to vary widely. It's not the best product after sliced bread, but it's not terrible junk either. When used correctly, it certainly makes it easier to hang pictures, especially those with two holes or hooks. It's easy to use as long as you understand that it never contains images.1. Put the picture on the front.2. Hold this unit with the mark facing you and align the center of this unit with the center of the frame.3. Place the long part of this device on top of the frame and adjust the two short arms so that the hooks on the device engage the attachment points on the back of the frame4. Tighten the knobs 5. Remove the device from the picture frame6. Place the unit on the wall with the markings (and knobs) facing the wall.7. Line up the bottom of the long strip where you want the top of the image. While holding the unit against a wall, firmly tap the underside of the short poles. This allows the "nails" on the device to mark the points where you need to drill holes (or where the bottom of the picture hanging hooks are if you use them). The device doesn't always have to hold an image, so the arms don't need to be tightened enough to hold something - they just need to be non-slip as long as you're holding the device against a wall (no image). So why three stars?1. A mark on the back (at least one dot in the middle) would be nice. The plane works, but sometimes it shakes a bit. I always check with another level.2. Seems a bit expensive for what you get3. The included picture hanging hardware is only suitable for hanging the lightest pictures.
