I bought 2 of these blinds to solve a problem with a frontal street light that was keeping my room dark at night. I ordered 42" wide models (my windows are about 43" wide, but it's always best to leave some space). These blinds are available with a variety of mounting options. I chose an internal mount that works well with my narrow 2.5 inch depth. Just screw in some clamps and voila. Everything else comes pre-assembled. In short, the inevitable edges where light enters, the blinds effectively block incoming light - I can live with that. The fabric is thankfully not thick which was a plus in my case as my windows are much wider than they are high as you can see. With careful use, they should stay in top shape for years.
