While other reviews may suggest otherwise, I found this lens hood (LYG-L500A Bright Black) to be malfunctioning to begin with. After charging the battery for 1 hour, it works intermittently, using the sun for verification. If it's shaded, it stays dark. It didn't work in direct sunlight. Don't lose your eyes on that. The "User's Guide" is written in Chinese. There is no mention at all of the battery, which needs to be charged with a solar charger. Lithium-ion batteries don't last long when they're fully discharged. There's also no mention of the non-replaceable lithium-ion battery. If he goes south, it's done. drop it
