Review on Sony DVPFX810 8-Inch Portable DVD Player, Black: Experience Unmatched Entertainment on the Go by Kory Shelton

Worth the price!

I spent weeks looking for portable DVD players before I finally bought this one. My general takeaways from my research are: 1) no player seems loud enough when used without headphones, 2) less expensive players don't seem to stand the test of time, 3) most battery lives are around 2.5 -3. hrs. I bought this Sony DVPFX810 player in October 2006 and am just as happy with it as when it was first released. The picture quality is excellent and the screen size makes it easy to see. I've taken this player on a couple of trips and found that the size works well even in cramped airplane seats. With headphones, the volume is more than sufficient. Volume is also okay without headphones - as long as there isn't a lot of background noise (you'll need headphones in a room full of people talking). The battery lasted for about 5 hours of playback - an outstanding feature of this player. This player also allows you to plug in and use the player when the battery is disconnected so I can watch a movie with peace of mind. at home without worrying about battery life. The swiveling screen looks pretty cool, but I almost always use the player in his "laptop". EXTRA NOTE: I've had this product for 4 1/2 years now and it's still working as good as the day I got it! The battery is even good! I love this thing! I bought a "Case Logic Koskin DVD Player Case w/SS" for this player and it fits very well.
