I bought this for my car that had a leaking exhaust. The check engine light said it was a minor leak and probably from the gas cap. I bought this cap to fix the situation. The filler tube has been cleaned of dirt fairly well. Then I installed a new cover. It went wrong. I bought a different brand cover that worked great and the check engine light stopped coming on. Replacement parts from outside sources are not necessarily direct replacements. Now I will buy auto parts locally.
