ASD Life Change: In-Ear Headphones

If you know someone or have autism, your dream will come true. I will try to give as many details as possible. Below is a list of pros and cons. Last year I was diagnosed with autism. I've lived on this planet in agony for 40 years thanks to the noises other people make, especially with our electronics. In addition to other physical sensations that are painful. I often thought that if I could give up any ability, I'd rather lose my hearing. I would gladly give up pleasant noises and security in favor of silence. About 20 minutes after wearing the Soundcore Anker Life Q30 Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones, I tested all the fans and people in my house. When I turned on the dryer I was so relieved I burst into tears. I don't cry often and I'm not very emotional. It was close to how I felt when I held my daughter in my arms for the first time. this is no exaggeration. I explain to autistic people how to spend your whole life at Chuck E. Cheese or at Disneyland. It's fantastic for the average person for a few hours or a few days, but it's also tiring and exhausting. I don't like concerts because of pain and ear plugs. Although I wear earplugs a lot, I keep extras in my car, in my purse, my wife wears them and I think my daughter does too. These headphones aren't perfect but they are life changing and so far (within 2 hours) they are great. I'll let you know if anything ever changes. My doctor is writing a prescription so I can use the $ in my medical savings account because I need it for medical reasons. I'm buying a second pair to wear while charging, and I'm also considering headphones if I don't want to be so obvious. I think they won't be as overwhelming because they don't wrap around my ear. I waited so long to buy noise canceling headphones because in-ear headphones used to hurt my outer ear when I was younger, so I figured they would do the same. .They don't put any pressure on my ear, they enclose my ear and I have quite large ears. Pros - they block a TON of noise, even the sound of my own heartbeat, stomach digestion and footsteps. Interior noise is a bit dull. * sit comfortably in the ears and do not slip. * Easily toggle transparency mode on and off (so you can hear people more clearly). Just place your right hand on the right earbud and click when it's on or off.* The app is easy to use.* The app has a great equalizer. I've already set up the perfect musical setup with just a bit of bass or treble. It's also fantastic for audio books because I can customize it. Some books are painful to listen to because of high notes that have too much bass in the voice.* For iPhone iOS 14, it provides a widget that allows me to easily change the settings if needed.* You can also use an extra cable!* 2 microphones that weren't a problem but I'm very satisfied. *I've been impressed with other Anker products so they make a decent brand. Cons * I noticed the weight. My scale reads 0.6 pounds which is about 1/3 pound. * The top band puts pressure on my head and makes me uncomfortable. Either I'll get used to it or it'll hurt me over time. It's impossible to tell where my body will go. I doubt it would be noticeable to most typical people. This should be a consideration for anyone with autism. For me personally, the benefits far outweigh the disadvantages.* Noise reduction can only be controlled via the app or via the noise reduction and transparency modes. That means you need to have a digital device if you want to control what types of sounds are blocked or allowed. This isn't a good feature for luddites or those who don't want to keep their phone handy all the time. As far as I know. They're not perfect, but if you've lived your life in physical pain and mental anguish from hearing EVERYTHING, I recommend them.
