Review on 🚴 Enhance Your Cycling Performance with Profile Designs T2 Wing Base Bar (Black) by Travis Caminiti

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Almost ideal if the ends were at least half an inch longer after the bend.

I am very happy with the switch to the Profile handlebar from the mountain bike handlebar I replaced. The five-hour ride yesterday was much more pleasant than with the old handlebars. Even without the tape, the flat part is surprisingly comfortable and the matte finish offers good traction. My setup includes a pair of Tektro Shorty Reverse Alloy TT bike brake levers - a pair - TL720 and 9 speed over the bar Sunrace shifters which Revain does not have. do not wear. Installation was fairly easy, with the exception of the Sunrace thumb shifter mounts, which required some adjustment to fit. For some reason, road and mountain bike handlebars are slightly different diameters, and the front derailleur mounts had to be widened a bit to fit the end of the handlebar. Luckily I had two longer bolts with the same thread pitch to replace the stock bolts which appeared to be the same length and thread as the stock bottle cage bolt and did not fit when the brackets were widened to street diameter. The bike shop will sell longer bolts for pennies each if they have them. Internal brake cable routing provides a clean, smooth profile and a narrow grip area. I considered using bar end shifters and side brake levers, but am glad I went with bar end brake levers instead. External cable routing is cleaner and straighter for thumb shifters, making shifting smooth and fast. Why four stars and not five? It's a nitpick, but if the ends of the handlebars were a bit longer my hands would fit completely on the ends and I would have more leverage to get out of the seat. There are other handlebars that are shaped like this, such as the Retrospec Bicycles Pursuit Bull Horn alloy track bike handlebar, black but without internal cable routing.
