I have a lousy closet. It's 2 feet deep, just over 5 feet long with a two foot hole - and that hole isn't even centered. Who knows what lies in the recesses of the far dark right side. So I've been looking for ways to maximize space and get things where I can see them better. I use these Whitmor hangers for skirts and (pressed) cotton shorts. They are well constructed and look durable; I was so pleased that I immediately bought another set. It's hard to tell from the product photo, but the shackle doesn't go through the metal hole on the shackle above, it just sits flush on the hook. This is because the "head" of the suspension is welded and does not rotate. However, the clamps can be moved up and down the rod at any convenient location. So you want to expand three hangers to four? This is easily done by hanging a cheap plastic skirt/pant hanger with hooks (the kind you can find at thrift stores, flea markets, or just toss on the side of the road if you're not too picky) or just plain clothes .
