Review on 💻 Enhance Display Capabilities with Belkin 1' DVI Splitter (F2CM036b01) by Darryl Blumenthal

I had high hopes for this product but was disappointed. My computer is connected to a widescreen TV with a DVI to HDMI cable. However, when I sit at least 10-12 feet away, it becomes very difficult to read the small text and keep everything in a viewport in many programs. So I figured I could buy this cable, plug it into my graphics card, connect one side to the TV and the other side to the computer monitor that I can put on the table in front of me. This way I can just turn on the monitor without turning on the TV and get the resolution of the monitor. Well, wrong thought! With the TV off and the monitor on I get a reddish color wash and the maximum resolution I can get is 640x480, although the highest resolution on the monitor can go up to 1400x900 when connected to the TV Monitor, the color is corrected, but a resolution greater than 640 x 480 still does not work. The only solution now is to disable the splitter. If I want to connect my TV, I have to connect this cable. If I want to connect a monitor I have to unplug the TV cable and plug in the purchased DVI-D extension cable that should have come with the splitter.
