This was the first chalk I bought for climbing. I had no comparison to back then, but I've tried enough other chalks so far and I can safely say that this is my favorite. I've found it's lumpier at times than other times, but part of that may be due to leaving the bag with it outside in the car during the rainy season when it's over 100 degrees. I love that it has multiple pieces because breaking open a piece to cover my arms gives me something to do while I sit back and try to figure out the problem. At that point I basically stopped using chalk because I was tired of my hands getting destroyed and actually feel like sticking to the wall better without it, but I still keep it in mine out of habit Chalk bags and some of my dishes. and part in case I trip over the hold already wet from someone else's sweat. (And of course having everything in my car and life covered in a harmless white powder, since I can't figure out how to close a bag of chalk long before you throw my gear onto my air-conditioned black leather seats. - I'm just waiting for an explanation. A pile of white powder flying around my car when I'm stopped.)
