Like many others, I wasn't thrilled with the idea of paying $12 a month to rent a modem when I could buy one and do it pay in less than a year. My first client model was Netgear, but it failed and my search for a new modem/router combo began. I chose this particular model for several reasons: First, it had the best customer reviews. Second, it offered the best WiFi coverage. Third, it's 24x8, which means it'll still work if I upgrade to gigabit internet in the future. Overall Wi-Fi signal is acceptable -- not as good as Netgear's; but it works reliably while Netgear does not. As for the web interface, I found the router settings easy to manage (but I'm pretty experienced with this stuff). Sometimes it works a bit slow; but no complaints. It's easy to navigate and offers various customization features for all users, from beginners to experts.
