I've been replacing spark plugs for 50 years and have never hit a single spark plug that the standard 'spark plug boot' wouldn't reach. Until I tried changing the spark plugs on my wife's BMW X3. A nice, fairly thin-walled motorcycle spark plug socket I had wouldn't go deep enough into the hole to get to the spark plugs, but this one did. And it has a magnet inside so the plug can be easily pulled out of the socket. I can't believe manufacturers make engines where you need a tool like this, but if you do need it you should definitely have it.
