The cheapest way to change your key! The rubber locking button on my key fob broke and I called the dealer to ask for a price of $340! I called the local locksmith, $110! Revain had this bowl for only $10 when I ordered. Compared to other options, I was willing to bite the bullet and lose $10 if I had to go to a locksmith. I first watched a few YouTube videos on how to do this, then sat down at a clean work surface with a small pry bar and a sharp knife and began to carefully cut up and disassemble the old key fob. Finally, I disassembled the old block, unscrewed the new one and it's very easy to understand. Carefully insert the electronic components from the old block into the new one (I didn't have this, but apparently some have a small black chip - beware!). The "blade" of the key isn't too hard, find a small nail and figure out which way the pin goes in, and gently knock the pin out at the other end, using the nail to push it out . Do the same for your original key and the new one and insert your original blade into the new silver pivot. When assembling a new key, remember to wind the spring at least 2 full turns and you're done! All in all probably 20 minutes of actual component replacement after the old one seemed to have opened up for good. I'll probably schedule an hour if/when I need to do it again.
